Welcome to The Castle Beloit

A landmark in our community. Originally constructed as a three story Presbyterian church in 1906, with the addition of a fallout shelter built during the start of the Cold War, this 30,000+ square foot Rock County-based treasure. Towering over the downtown and bathing in the Beloit sunsets.

Since transitioning ownership in 2023, we’ve planned and hosted immersive experiences ranging from traditional weddings to theatrical Edgar Allan Poe-themed speakeasy. Each Sunday you can join the congregation of the Kingdom Voice for an encouraging message from Pastor Rick & Lady Deborah, or check our upcoming events. Enjoy a craft beverage or cocktail at The Golden Hour bar located above the Sanctuary, or contact us so that we can help you coordinate an experience as unique as you are.

Our Mission in Beloit.

This impressive space is now a diverse, inclusive center for the arts & community engagement. The goal here is still the same as it has always been, even when it was only a church, this building was bringing the community together and lifting their spirits. Now in 2024, we have a few more creative pathways to make this happen.

Movie nights - using a former movie theater’s screen and projector, we hosted four nights of BIFF, an international film event.

Weddings - your complete ceremony, cocktail hour, dinner and dancing all fit under one roof here. One 32,000 sq ft roof with 100-year-old stained glass windows.

Concerts - we are working with three Grammy nominated artists to refurbish the sound system and bring it to Beloit in 2025. There are three separate spaces for performances, click here to see our past performances from jazz and absinthe pairings, rock shows, Beatle Mania, Pirate Shanty tunes, Carvin Jones & so much more.

Food events - food brings people together, from the Old Fashioned Fest we hosted in November 2024 with 800 attendees, to our upcoming festivals there’s so much to enjoy. Be on the lookout for out Beloit Coffee Fest, coming in March 2025.

Recordings - in 2024 we recorded two separate and complete records here from Nick & Friends.

Film & Photography - in 2024 this building was used for two music videos & two 48-Hour Film Festival recordings. We are also a location for any kinds of photography, from headshots, engagements, to senior graduations.

Theater - maybe you heard of us because of the Edgar Allen Poe themed event, which brought in 1,250 attendees for just one day of theater. A Truly immersive event. If you are looking to host a play or similar public event, we have three different stages.

With a very small core team of volunteers we work each week to organize and setup memorable experiences, for us as much as it is for you. This building itself being from 1906 should show us all a little glimpse of our humanity. An immense but gentle message to our community that life itself is short, it is better to lift our heads up out of the ‘rat race’ and realize that this buidling has hosted some of the most memorable moments in our neighbors’ lives. For the last 118 years this incredible space has felt tears of joy during weddings, tears of pain during funerals, shouts of victory during a church service, shouts of joy during concerts, and shouts from the stage turing a theater performance. Since 1906 the core need has been the same, to have a shelter where a community can gather and realize we all are more similar that might show at first, we all care for this area called home. So let’s make it feel more that way.

Preserving the Past

That is what buildings are for, to bring people in and share common thoughts, foods & dreams. The Castle Beloit has been open for 118 years, with its design reaching back to the Gothic Era, step into the past with us.
